My name is Christine Moore. I am an artist living in Northern Kentucky and I am currently building my body of work. I graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design 35 years ago. However, my life's path as an artist just got started in 2021.
I primarily paint landscapes in oil and prefer to paint en Plein Air, meaning in open air. I like the immediacy of painting outdoors, the energy that comes from capturing the light and shadows before they shift, and most importantly noticing the subtle changes in color only my eyes can see. Those subtleties are not captured with the use of a camera and/or using photo references as the camera tends to condense the visual information. I do not intend to replicate what a camera does so easily and effortlessly. My intention is to express how I see and feel as I am experiencing the landscape before me. Although I am drawn to landscapes, on a beautiful morning or evening, I may be drawn to a group of flowers, a cityscape, and I even enjoy drawing the human figure from life. My explorations into what my art is about is still in its infancy stages. I am very excited to see where these expressions take me.
